  • 15.02.2024 – With the help of my amazing local community, I designed a community driven pocket park for a local underused spot.  “The three top aims of our parklet are: support the local ecology, protect local wildlife and to provide an inclusive social space for everyone. These were set out by the community from our first engagement. The results were so descriptive and useful that the parklet designed itself really. Once I had looked at the data from the questions a priority list emerged and once those were laid over the top of the park the design was mostly fleshed out. Natural features, natural materials and natural moments of interaction seemed to be the priority. The community wanted a space full of nature that they could sit in and pass through, I’m hoping that this is what I’ve given them!” This project won 2nd prize in a competition run by engagebygo.com. “Claire’s design of a simple corner park is a perfect example of how small spaces can transform an entire neighborhood. The design is straightforward, inviting, and clearly grounded in  what the community desired.” Engagebygo.com Competition judges see
